This year, the team at the TUM Gender Equality Office also enjoyed success with its “TUM meets Zonta” project.
“Giving promising projects related to studying and teaching a powerful boost” – this is how President Thomas F. Hofmann described the mission of the TUM Future Learning Initiative. Dozens of proposals were submitted, and four of the projects particularly impressed the jury. They are dedicated to AI-based solutions for exam preparation and study organization, the automatic recording of lectures, and the fight against poverty among older women while they are still studying.
TUM meets ZONTA
What does poverty among older people have to do with studying? More than you might think. Women are particularly affected by poverty in old age – and to counteract this, prevention in youth is essential. With “TUM meets ZONTA,” the TUM Gender Equality Office led by Dr. Daniela Schwarz, together with the women's initiative ZONTA, aims to create innovative and creative teaching and learning formats to empower female students and support them in gaining financial independence.
Freunde der TUM e.V. has provided a total of €20,000 for the competition so that the winners can turn their ideas into reality – and make teaching at TUM even more digital, even more flexible, and even more socially engaged.
